2024 Strawberry Moon Cycle
The Strawberry Moon cycle is upon us, and summer is here baby! There is no better time to pause and take in the beauty all around you.
This year, the Strawberry Moon and Litha coincide - an event that only occurs every 20 years or so! These two events bring with them some serious fertility, abundance, passion, and drive!
Birds are singing; days are lengthening; summer fruits are finally in markets; life is good!
Last month's Flower Moon encouraged us to sprout forth from our winter dormancy, while next month's Buck Moon means summer is in full swing; this month's Strawberry Moon encourages us to savor the now.
Imagine a friend handing you a fresh delicious strawberry straight from the farmer's market. You admire the vibrant red color and the firmness; you hold it to your nose and inhale its sweet fragrance; and that first bite - your teeth cutting into the skin, the juice and flavor filling your senses with joy - those are Strawberry Moon vibes baby.
Energies for this moon cycle are great for manifesting and acting on passion projects.
(Big surprise that this cycle is when Whimsy & WooWoo is finally launching! Hooray!)
For this New Moon, focus on your spark.
What excites you? What peaques your curiosity? What ignites your passion?
These are things to cultivate this season, with the Full Moon delivering on June 21.
Manifesting things specifically because they interest you and bring you joy is one of the greatest acts of self-love you can give yourself.
Whimsy & WooWoo is my passion project, and one that has been in the concept phase for years now. Well no more! We're doing the damn thing and the Strawberry Moon says, "Full steam ahead!"
For the weeks between the New and Full Moons, as the moon waxes its energies, it's important to keep momentum going. Whatever you're manifesting is growing, and the Strawberry Moon and summer solstice want to bring bounty with them when they reach their peak this month.
Gratitude and active engagement are key for this month's Full Moon.
With big-time mojo coming our way, it's crucial to genuinely appreciate all we have, and put in the effort to maintain it. Feelings of entitlement or disengagement are only going to derail things- it's important to leave that baggage behind.
In a future post I'll talk about some formal rituals I like to do for New Moons and Full Moons, but smaller celebrations are in order for me this month.
Upon starting my journey with living more aligned to the seasons and the moon, I quickly learned that sometimes formal rituals stress me out.
First there's researching what I want to do, planning out the flow, and getting whatever materials I need- which can take days- and that's not even counting the other issues: getting home from work too exhausted to function, can't get private time from the hubs (I don't like to feel watched! This stuff is sacred to me!), or just straight up forgetting.
I love gathering research and adding to my various grimoires, notebooks, and journals because having resources in one place helps keep my practice accessible to me, and help me stay consistent, which seriously helps my mental health.
I created a pdf for June's moon with information, tips, and prompts that can be downloaded and printed out for your own grimoire! Click for Strawberry Moon pdf
I find that small, intentional actions help cyclical living to be much more accessible and consistent for me rather than trying to engage with them exclusively through orchestrated New Moon/Full Moon rituals.
Don't get me wrong! I love a big to-do, but they're not always feasible when they land on a Thursday and I work the closing shift.
But making the effort to get a berry medley and whipped cream from the market, or a smoothie on the way home, or switiching your classic margarita on girl's night to a strawberry one *wink* to celebrate this cycle can be just as meaningful as a formal ritual. It's all about intention and active engagement.
Everybody's path and practice is different, and what matters most is what feels accessible and authentic to YOU.
That's my motto and I'm sticking to it.
This month's moon cycle can be celebrated in so many ways!
Tap into the sweet summer energies by burning your manifestations with green, pink, yellow, orange, or red candles
Infuse berries with moon water for a tasty treat or drink
Connect with the earth/season: walk barefoot, tend your plants, soak up some sunshine
